FD32 release 0.0.1 (unstable) is out

Pre-0.0.1 (time for testing!!!)
Some time ago, we promised a first FD/32 release... Since Salvo is temporarly offline (modem problems), I don't want to make a release now, but I put a pre-release (pre-0.0.1) on the sf site. A disk image is available in the Downloads page. You can write it to a floppy, or you can directly use the image with bochs.

A shell running
The FD32 kernel is finally able to run a shell: the free COMMAND.COM by Centroid Corp. (get it here). We have chosen it because it's developed using DJGPP, thus it's ready to use with FD32. After trying some internal commands, they appear to work fine.

Syscalls list
The DPMI Driver documentation in the Components section of the site has been changed to show implemented and unimplemented DPMI and DOS system calls. You may use it as a TODO list.

CVS repository restored
Kernel, drivers and test programs are finally all stored in our CVS repository, where you can find the latest development source code. The file system is fully integrated in the FD32 scenario and seems to work properly. See the Downloads page for further informations.

Project progress
I have received several e-mail messages asking if the FD32 development has been dropped. The answer is: no, we have just suspended it due to "real life" engagements, and right in these days it seems we will have more spare time for coding. Thank you for your interest.

More file system news
The file system support for FD32 is almost complete. We have support for the SUBST service, TRUENAME, current directory and national code pages for short file names. Now it's time to integrate my work in the FD32 source tree and finally import the new drivers CVS module.
